The world is full of distance
Discovering New Endeavors,
Richard Koh Fine Art, Singapore,
8 March – 27 March 2013

Based on my initial drawings of ‘growing a crystal formation’, this recent work is created on a larger scale and has ‘evolved’ from a crystal island into a larger land mass.

The repetitive cutting, removing and piecing together mimics an excavation process, at the same time maps a physical landscape that is altogether imagined. The fragile lines and faults connect and diverge like communication lines mapped in our world. Most often, the physical geography is not the main reason that separates people from one another.
